United Way accepting applications for Reeves/Sievers Award
United Way of Snohomish County is currently accepting nominations for the organization's annual Reeves/Sievers Award. The winner will be announced June 8 at United Way's annual Spirit of Snohomish County event.
The Reeves/Sievers Award promotes awareness of community service as an important element in meeting the needs of Snohomish County. Previous winners are: Bob Dent, Jr., ATAB Corporation (1999); Lyle Ryan, Frontier Bank (1998); Bob Drewel, Snohomish County Executive (1997); Sharon Wellman, Everett Community College (1996); and Larry Hanson, The Herald (1995). The recipient of the award is chosen based on the following:
- Someone who expresses a genuine concern for the local community.
- Someone who works for the betterment of the community and for those in need within it.
- Someone who demonstrates a generosity of spirit. He/she truly cares for others.
- Someone who is aware of public obligation and reminds us that citizenship is alive and well in our community.
