| All
of us in the Snoqualmie Valley have experienced
far more than our share of tragedies over the
past year! We have seen friends and loved ones
ripped away by drowning, car accidents, unexplained
deaths, accidents, illnesses, and suicides. It
is with a very heavy heart and deep anger that
I write this letter. Why do we as a society wait
until the ones we love are gone before we show
our true feelings? Why do we as a society put
off what we should do now? We wait until the passing
of our loved ones to give flowers. Wouldn’t
that expression of affection be much better served
while they were still with us? It may have just
made a difference!
Why do we wait to visit them when they are
already gone? Why wait?
Couldn’t we take a little time before
their deaths to stop in? What good is it to
wait? We will travel for miles and miles and
spend hundreds of dollars in airfare and travel
expenses to get to the service, yet we couldn’t
find the time or money while they were with
us! Why do we wait until someone dies to have
a “get together” with friends and
family we haven’t seen in years? Why can’t
we “get together” at happier times?
We can’t seem to find the time or money
to send a card, bring over a plate of cookies,
take them to lunch, pick a bouquet of flowers,
or just a friendly face. It may have made all
the difference in the world to some of our friends!
We are so wrapped up in our own lives that
we need to stop and think of others now before
it’s too late! Think about how you would
feel today if someone did something nice for
you for no reason at all! That’s how we
should feel everyday! Don’t wait any more
because I miss my friends.
