Volunteers needed for Tent City

Woodinville churches, individuals, city officials and groups have been working to coordinate a support network for Tent City 4 which is located on property provided by the City of Woodinville beside SR522.

Evening meals are being served by volunteers from the Northshore United Church of Christ, the Church of Latter-day Saints, Woodinville Unitarian Universalist Church; Bear Creek United Methodist Church, Cottage Lake Presbyterian, and Bothell’s Emmanuel Presbyterian Church. Individual volunteers from the Northshore are also making meals. Other organizations and churches are encouraged to join the meal schedule for the coming weeks.

Community volunteers and local merchants also are donating transportation, laundry facilities, and other needs identified by TentCity 4 residents and organizers. Many of the residents work during the day or are seeking jobs and trying to save money for rent deposits, so they particularly appreciate assistance for needs ranging from haircuts to bus tokens, coolers, and ice.

If you wish to volunteer, call Deb Eichstedt at 1-360-668-9481 (uusoul@yahoo.com)
