Mounted jousting new this year at Camlann Medieval Faire
Tournaments this year at the Camlann Medieval Faire include mounted jousting. This feature is presented by The Seattle Knights wherein armored knights and sturdy squires will contest with lances, axes, sword and shield.

Trumpet fanfares will transport visitors back to the turbulent summer of 1376, when Geoffrey Chaucer wrote and King Edward III began his last year upon the throne of England. Jousting is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. and 5 p.m.

The Faire runs Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The leisurely rhythm of medieval daily life can be seen, as well as musical performers, and there are lessons on various medieval crafts including shooting the longbow. Among demonstrations are mortise and tenon construction done by laborers using only period tools.

Camlann Medieval Village is located in the Stillwater area north of Carnation at 10320 Kelly Road NE. Admission is $9 adults, seniors (60+) and juniors (6-12) $5. Children 5 and under are free. A free brochure/map and feast tickets are available by calling (425) 788-8624. Visit www. camlann.org for more information. The Faire ends its summer season Aug. 29.
