The open house will be held Saturday, Sept. 10, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Woodinville Community Center

Woodinville - The Woodinville Community Center and City Sports Fields are about to get an extreme make-over. Community members are encouraged to share their thoughts on proposed building renovation and field development alternatives at an open house set for Saturday, Sept. 10, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Woodinville Community Center, 17401-133rd Avenue NE.

Members of the City’s Parks and Recreation Commission, staff and architects will present conceptual drawings and discuss alternatives. Community and citizen input will be collected and reviewed by the Commission with the project architects. This input will be assimilated into the next conceptual presentation to the City Council.

“The community vision for the Woodinville Community Center to function as the center of the City’s recreational, social and cultural life is becoming a reality,” notes Bob Vogt, Parks and Recreation Commission vice-chair. ”It’s critical that we hear from users and stakeholders about potential building renovations, field lighting, surfacing, parking, room equipment, fixtures and access.”

The Civic Center Master Plan adopted in 2001 determined the overall vision of the community for the civic campus site.

The plan describes the primary role and general layout for the 13-acre site that includes Woodinville City Hall, Woodinville Community Center and sports fields, and the Old Woodinville School. A feasibility study approved last year builds on the concepts adopted in the Master Plan by defining future phasing and implementation of the master plan.

Both plans are available on the City’s Web site at www.ci.woodinville.wa.us
