Local Crime Watch Report

Compiled by C.H. Clark from Woodinville Police reports

Driver loses control
Nov. 27: At approximately 9 p.m., a man driving a 1988 Plymouth Voyager van lost control of his vehicle and crossed into the eastbound lanes of traffic.

After that, he drove across the sidewalk and went through the Woodin Creek Park sign and into a wooden fence. He ended up in an apartment complex parking lot where he hit several cars, pushing them into other cars.

Pieces of the wooden fence splintered and caused damage to two more vehicles. The driver and passenger both had injuries and were transported to Overlake Hospital.

It turns out the driver was driving while his license was revoked and he was driving while under the influence. Officers accompanied the two men to the hospital to obtain blood samples. There is no further information at this time.

Walker has CD player and earphones stolen
Dec. 4: At approximately 7:45 p.m., a man was walking approaching Northeast 146th Court when he observed two males standing on the sidewalk. As the walker passed by, one male suspect ordered him to give him “his stuff” and then grabbed the walkers CD player, yanking the earphones from his ears.

Both suspects ran eastbound on 146th, and the walker tried to chase them. As the walker reached Northeast 146th Court, another man dressed in a black hooded shirt jumped out of the bushes. The walker decided to run away from the scene and into a Safeway parking lot and called police.

The walker and a police officer drove around the area looking for the suspects, but were unsuccessful. There is no further information at this time.

No Police Beat for December

Gloria Nelson, the Valley View’s Carnation-Duvall Police Beat reporter, is taking a leave of absence because of health-related issues. She hopes to be able to resume the Beat by January.
