| Elizabeth
“Betty” Hart Kasel, of Woodinville,
died at Evergreen Hospital on Thursday, Feb. 16,
2006, following a short illness. She was 89 years
old.
Mrs. Kasel was born on April 25, 1916, in Decatur,
Ill. She was a “preacher’s”
daughter and the only daughter born to Jesse
and Gertrude Hart. She was raised in Illinois
and attended Illinois State University and became
a school teacher. In 1938 she married Leo Kasel.
Mrs. Kasel taught school in Indiana and worked
with underprivileged children in her spare time.
She supported many religious causes, not only
monetarily but she also travelled to India,
China, Nepal and other places in her desire
to support her missionary ideals and goals.
In her later years Mrs. Kasel became an avid
painter and produced many beautiful floral works.
Her love of nature and beauty was vividly portrayed
in her artistry.
Survivors include two sons, Lynn Kasel, of
Bellevue and William Kasel, of Streamwood, Ill.;
eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
