Bethany (l) and Britney Carlson were Duvall Rotary
December and January Cedarcrest Student of the
Month.
The Rotary Club of Duvall honored Britney and
Bethany Carlson as December and January’s
Cedarcrest Student of the Month at their January
25th meeting. The honorees were recognized together
because they are the twin daughters of Eric
and Kelly Carlson of Lake Marcel, Carnation.
Both girls have proven themselves through academics,
sports and community. Both maintain a 4.0 grade
point average and are active in volleyball.
This year, both girls helped lead their team
to a Cascade League title, a second place finish
in the Northwest 3A tournament and an eight
place finish at the Washington State 3A fall
tournament.
Cedarcrest head volleyball coach Christine
Hillestad appreciates Britney’s drive
and determination and says that the team has
a huge amount of respect and admiration for
her. As team captain, Britney knows how to get
the job done when the game is on the line.
Hillestad says that Bethany has a wonderful
amount of focus and energy that has allowed
her to develop into a strong volleyball player.
Bethany constantly looks for ways to improve
her game and also takes the time to help her
teammates improve by providing positive feedback.
Both girls are active in the National Honor
Society, youth sports camps and Vacation Bible
School.
The Rotary Club of Duvall is proud to honor
youth in the community as well as participate
in local and international service projects.
Visit the club’s Web site at www.duvallrotary.org

all guests to the weekly breakfast meetings
at 7:15 a.m. on Wednesdays at Twin Dragon restaurant
