| With
family and friends by her side, Marie Brown went
home to be with her Lord on February 27.
Marie was born on October 24, 1951, in Omaha,
Neb. She later moved to Federal Way and graduated
from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1970.
She went on to Western Washington State College
in Bellingham and graduated with a degree in
math and economics.
In 1975, Marie married Stephen Eric Brown of
Woodinville. They were married 31 years and
had two children, Matthew Eric Brown, age 27,
and Lisa Marie Brown (Sieberson), age 25.
Marie spent 23 years working in a local bank
before retiring to volunteer at Bellingham High
School while her children were in attendance
there. She worked for the last eight years in
the human resources department at Bellingham
Technical College.
She was an active member at Birchwood Presbyterian
Church. Marie was involved as an elder, planned
for the new church building, served on the personnel
committee, and sang in the choir. Her faith
in Jesus Christ was the most important thing
in her life.
Marie loved family and was the catalyst for
many family activities including trips, get-togethers,
sporting events and holiday celebrations.
She loved traveling, including the yearly
trip to Lake Chelan and recent trips to Morocco
and Thailand. While she enjoyed many things,
being with family was of utmost importance.
She is survived by her loving husband, Eric;
her kids, Matthew and Zena (Brown), and Lisa
and Eric (Sieberson); her brother, Dennis Gosland;
and her sister, Bobbi Jo LeBlanc.
A memorial service bearing witness to the resurrection
of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was held
March 5 at Birchwood Presbyterian Church.
Memorials may be made to Birchwood Presbyterian
Church and the Combined Fund Drive at Bellingham
Technical College.
