| (The
following is a letter replying to one from
Janet Broadus in the March 14 letters to the
editor.)
As you have invited comments regarding your
very articulate letter to the editor, I wanted
to state my complete support for your position.
Perhaps this litter apathy is symptomatic
of a greater national apathy epidemic. How
can this country and its representatives
sit on their hands when our current leaders
repeatedly lie to us, operate with international
arrogance and complete incompetence, take
illegal actions that impugn the basic freedoms
and liberties that represent the foundation
of America, allow for thousands of youth
to be maimed or killed in a deceptive mission
without clear purpose or goal, halt scientific
and medical progress while stem cell embryos
are discarded, support environmental and
energy positions that expose the only planet
God has given us to horrendous disasters
(a littering of the worst sort).
These destructive actions and inactions
are the worst litter of all. And yet, apathy
abounds.Where are the protests? Where is
the outrage?
