Local Scouts organize food drive

Local Boy Scouts in southern Snohomish County are organizing a two-week canned food drive to benefit several local food banks. The “Together, We ‘Can’ Drive Out Hunger” campaign runs through April 6. Scouts will have collection bins at participating grocery stores and will be on site to personally collect donations April 1 and 2. Last year, the Puget Sound District of the Boy Scouts of America collected nearly 12,000 cans of food. The annual canned food drive is especially needed because spring is when food supplies at many food banks become critically low. For information, call (425) 338-0380, ext. 110.
