I-405 closures planned this week

There will be total closures of northbound I-405 in Kirkland this week as crews set bridge girders Monday through Wednesday nights, March 27-29. Crews will close all northbound lanes of I-405 near NE 128th Street from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Traffic will follow a signed detour around the work zone.

These closures are necessary for crews to set nine 128-foot steel girders that will form the frame of the new NE 128th Street bridge over I-405. The new bridge is scheduled to open to all traffic late this year. Later this spring, new bridge girders will be set over the southbound lanes, which will require total nighttime closures of southbound I-405. Visit WSDOT’s and Sound Transit’s Web pages for more information on the Totem Lake Freeway Station Project.
