May 1, City of Bothell City Manager Bob Stowe
announces Jamie Marsden as the City of Bothell’s
new Human Resources Director.
Marsden comes to the City of Bothell from
the City of Gillette, Wyo., where she has
served as human resources director since
2002.
From an initial pool of 40 applicants, six
were selected to go through the interview
process, which consisted of individual and
panel interviews with the city manager, city
directors and various staff.
The City of Bothell human resources director
reports to the city manager and the position’s
salary range is $86,184 to $109,320.
“The City welcomes Jamie Marsden to
Bothell’s team,” said Bothell
City Manager Bob Stowe.
The city manager recently performed a reorganization
of the executive staff, which included strengthening
the role of human resources by designating
it as a city department with a director level
position.
“Jamie’s energy, talent, and
experience will serve the community well
as she works to create strategic partnerships
with all levels of the City’s workforce
for the benefit of our citizens,” added
Stowe.
“I am honored to be chosen to work
for the City of Bothell,” said new
Bothell Human Resources Director Jamie Marsden. “I
am excited to move back to the Pacific Northwest
and I’m looking forward to living and
working in such a beautiful and vibrant community.”
Prior to the serving at the City of Gillette,
Marsden was the San Juan County personnel
manager from 1997 to 2002.
She also served as San Juan County’s
Clerk of the Board from 1992 to 1997. In
addition to Marsden’s government experience,
she was also a Business/English Teacher for
both Capital High School (Olympia, Wash.)
and the San Juan Island School District (Friday
Harbor, Wash.).
Marsden’s human resources career highlights
include:
- Facilitated the development and
implementation of a new employee performance
evaluation system
- Successfully negotiated
five collective bargaining agreements,
and
- Facilitated the design and implementation
of a Leadership Development Program,
which offers specialized training designed
to
develop employee leadership skills.
