City of Woodinville Tree Board’s annual
Arbor Day Celebration has top billing for city-sponsored
Earth Day events planned for Saturday, April
22. Beginning at 10 a.m. volunteers are encouraged
to join city officials with a tree planting
at Woodinville Memorial Mead located on NE
175th Street at 132nd Avenue NE.
In addition to the tree planting, restoration
work is planned for the Sammamish River banks
from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Woodin Creek Park,
13301 NE 171st Street, just south of Wilmot
Gateway Park. Parking is available at Woodinville
City Hall, 17301-133rd Avenue NE.
As part of the City’s Recycling Program,
rain barrels and compost bins will be available,
while supplies last, for $15 at the Spring
Garden Fair, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Woodmoor
Elementary School, 12225 NE 160 Street, Bothell.

Representatives from the Washington State
Department of Natural Resources will present
the City with Woodinville’s Tree City
USA designation for its 10th year. Representatives
will also be at the Spring Garden Fair to
answer questions about tree care and preservation.
The cemetery is currently managed by Woodinville
Cemetery Association (http://www.woodinvillecemetery.org/).
The banks along the Sammamish River are
in need of restoration work including removal
of unwanted vegetation. Volunteers are asked
to dress for the weather and be ready for
robust work. Volunteer agreement forms are
required for the Arbor Day celebration and
Sammamish River restoration and available
