Open house set for Duvall wastewater treatment plant

The public is invited to share in the celebration of the largest public project ever completed in the history of the city on Saturday, April 22, at the Duvall treatment plant, 14701 Main Street NE.

The open house will begin at 9 a.m. with plant tours. A presentation and ribbon cutting are scheduled for 9:45 a.m. Refreshments will be available beginning at 10:15 a.m.

According to Public Works Director Steve Schuller, the city just completed construction of its new wastewater treatment plant using innovative Membrane Bioreactor technology. The city was recently commended by the state for being a “regional leader” among cities and counties, and also received a Gold Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies.

Schuller said the open house will make it possible for the public to see what makes a healthy vibrant community, and keeps the valley and river so beautiful. “This is a success story that will serve the citizens of Duvall for years to come.”
