Arts Onstage series continues with ‘Buttrock Suites’ and Uncle Bonsai

Spring has sprung, and energy that’s been pent up all winter is bursting forth. Duvall’s Arts Onstage series explodes with a couple of dynamic spring performances at Cedarcrest High School Performing Arts Center.

On April 29 at 7:30 p.m., “Buttrock Suites” rocks the stage with their tribute to the hair-metal bands of the early ‘80s – Van Halen, Def Leppard, AC/DC, Bon Jovi and other classic rockers.

Blending satire, physical comedy and modern dance movement, Diana Cardiff and her company of dancers deliver an evening of high-octane entertainment. After a three-week run in Seattle, “Buttrock Suites” will hit Duvall with the “Best of Butt” – a special program combining the very best dances from “Buttrock Suites,” “Buttrock Suites II – Sweeter,” and “Buttrock Suites III – Sweetest.”

Don’t miss this show. Tickets are available online at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3507.

A week later, on May 6 at 7:30 p.m., Uncle Bonsai comes to Duvall with their trademark rapid-fire lyrics and three-part harmonies.

Uncle Bonsai was a regular at Duvall’s Silver Spoon restaurant in the late ‘70s and ‘80s.

Since their “anti-reunion reunion” a few years ago, their loyal fans await (not so patiently) the band’s occasional appearances in the Greater Seattle area.

Arts Onstage is thrilled to present them in Duvall once again. Tickets are available online at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3509.

General admission tickets for these shows are $12 for adults, $8 for students and seniors, free for children under 5 (ticket required).

Tickets are available in advance at Cherry Valley Veterinary Hospital, Duvall Books, Gardens & SunSpaces and Yarn Addiction in Duvall and at Simply Grand in Carnation. Tickets may also be purchased at the door starting one hour before the performance.

Cedarcrest High School Performing Arts Center is located at 29000 NE 150th St. in Duvall.

For more information, call (425) 788-2983 or visit www.cityofduvall.com/DAC.html.

Arts Onstage is sponsored by the Duvall Arts Commission and Cascade Performing Arts Council with support from King County 4Culture.
