Police reports
Auto theft
April 12: A police officer was dispatched
to the 17000 block of Garden Way to investigate
a report of a stolen vehicle. An employee
had parked her car in front of the store
in the afternoon. Several hours later she
went to retrieve her car keys from a desk
in the store. She discovered the keys missing
and when she went out to check on her vehicle,
she found it gone. A stolen vehicle report
was filed. There are no known suspects
or further information at this time.
Marijuana
April 17: A deputy stopped a black Chevy
pickup for speeding in a school zone. When
he went to speak to the driver, the deputy
smelled what he suspected was marijuana
emanating from the car. He asked the driver
how much marijuana was in the car and the
driver responded “about three and
a half grams in the glove box.” The
driver was placed under arrest. A search
of the vehicle turned up 3.5 grams of suspected
marijuana in the glove box, a marijuana
pipe, another bag containing 3.2 grams
of suspected marijuana on the floor board
and another pipe with suspected marijuana
inside. The case was sent to the prosecutors
recommending charges pending positive results
from the lab.
Forgery
April 17: Sometime during business hours
of the Woodinville Cinemas, an unknown
suspect used a counterfeit $5 bill at one
of the registers. One of the managers of
the Cinemas discovered the counterfeit
bill as he was counting the day’s
receipts. The color of the bill was off
and the printing on the back was off-center.
Also, there was no security tape through
it. A report was made to a responding officer.
There are no known suspects at this time.
Embezzlement
April 17: An employee theft occurred in the
13000 block of NE 178th Place. The manager
of the store told the responding deputy
of recent shortages of money from the suspect’s
register. The manager conducted surveillance
on the employee and recorded him removing
currency from registers and concealing
it in his front pants’ pocket. Other
tapes revealed similar actions. When confronted,
the employee admitted to taking the currency
from the register on many occasions while
at work. A report was forwarded to detectives
for further follow-up and /or filing of
charges.
Mental Complaints
April 18: Deputies observed a suspected subject
in a shopping center parking lot near the
intersection of NE 178th Place and 138
Place NE. The subject was seen emptying
contents of trash receptacles in the shopping
center lot and eating food from the receptacles.
He was dressed in a hospital gown, hospital
pants and slippers and appeared dirty and
unkempt. The subject had no wallet or identification
on him and said he had left Harborview
Hospital “in a hurry.” Harborview
was contacted and stated they were not
missing any patient by the suspect’s
name. Deputies reported that the subject
seemed confused and claimed to be ill.
He requested to be sent to Harborview Hospital
by ambulance transport and deputies made
the necessary arrangements.

APR. 13: While on duty in Carnation, a patrolman
noticed a driver in a white jeep Cherokee
on Tolt Ave. The driver was known to have
been ticketed earlier for a suspended license.
Redmond dispatch indicated that the license
was still suspended so the officer stopped
the suspect. The driver was read his rights,
cuffed and placed in the back seat of the
patrol vehicle. A search of the vehicle also
confirmed some drug paraphernalia. The vehicle
was impounded and the evidence and suspect
booked.
APR. 14: A reported shoplift occurred on
Main Street in Duvall. The suspect was known
as having frequented the liquor store before
and helped herself from the Vodka selections.
This time she slipped some Monarch Vodka
and placed it in her purse and then came
to the counter and paid for a half gallon
of Burnett’s Vodka and she and another
female left the parking lot in a 1989 Chevy
Caprice station wagon. Dispatch ran the driver’s
name and it came back with a DUI warrant
out of Duvall and Pierce County. The case
was forwarded to the Duvall prosecutor for
filing on charges of theft third degree.
APR. 14: Two males were seen walking on
the grass off the Lk. Joy roadway and further
on there was a black Ford truck, unoccupied
and blocking the westbound portion of the
roadway. As the officers approached the vehicle
there appeared to be a new stainless fridge
in the back of a very beaten up truck. The
windows were down and the bed of the truck
was full of property...including the fridge
that had deep scratches and a cut water hose,
plated silverware, two gold colored wine-type
glasses, kitchen faucet still in the box,
power tools, drills, circular saw, table
saw, black motorcycle helmet, and what appeared
to be gold cuff links. It didn’t appear
like just a construction truck broken down
as the items were consistent with items of
value which brought the King County Sheriff’s
Office onto the scene. They have the incident
in review.
APR. 16: As a result of a verbal domestic
violence call, a policeman was dispatched
to the home where a female was crying and
a male was yelling at her. Seems he was tired
of her yelling at him. He explained that
he’d been under considerable stress
having been unemployed lately due to an injury
he had sustained. He’s been taking
over as Mr. Mom while his wife was at a new
job which required that she work out of the
home. She had a male co-worker that was causing
concern from the husband. They’d been
under marriage counseling as a result of
her new interest.
The husband had surprised his wife with
a new candle for a bath when she arrived
home and went elsewhere to help their daughter
color eggs. While the eggs were being colored,
his daughter spilled dye all over the kitchen
which upset him.
He had been drinking and had the smell of
intoxicant. He stormed away and said he was
going to bed but went reluctantly into the
living room at the officer’s request
where they could talk.
He saluted the officer in a sarcastic manner
and puffed up his chest as if to challenge
the officer to a fight. The wife said she
was afraid that since he didn’t like
police, he’d take it out on her for
calling 911. She was going to separate herself
into another room and from him.
