JUNE 15: A bank bag was taken from the safe
of a Duvall store sometime between 12:30
p.m. and 2:30 p.m. and had contained $13,595
involving mostly checks from rent and customers.
A suspicious male was around the area about
that time and said he was looking for the
bathroom. He was a pretty solid citizen
of about 5’6” and 180 pounds,
wearing khaki slacks with khaki T-shirt.
He had dark, short hair and a mustache.
JUNE 15: A loud crash and a witness looked
up to see a “glossy” black, small,
two-door pickup truck with gray trim and
extended cab and full-length bed with a bale
of hay in it pull away from a fence on Stossel
Ave.
The driver left two 6’ sections and
the posts of the fence knocked over and a
third section and post damaged. A gouge was
approximately 30 inches high and appeared
to be from a bumper. There were tracks in
the grass leading towards the fence and away
from it.
Interestingly, a male had purchased two
bales of hay earlier in the day and was driving
a black pickup and paid for the bales with
a check that revealed his ID and Carnation
as his town. However, upon examining the
truck it was concluded that it was not the
vehicle in question.
The cost of repairing the fence was estimated
between $1,000 – $1,200. Prosecution
will occur if the suspect is located.
JUNE 16: A blue SUV with a white top had
nearly hit a vehicle while leaving a sports
bar in Duvall. As the officer continued following
her into Snohomish County on 203 he observed
it drifting over the center line.
The cross-over was about half a car width
and then the driver would correct back to
driving on the shoulder and continued this
to High Rock Rd. where the officer was able
to stop her.
When she rolled down the window a huge whiff
of intoxicant blasted the officer. He noticed
her eyes were glassy and she’d squint
and then open them wide. She admitted to
three drinks … earlier. She apparently
knew the office and asked him, “Come
on ___, can’t you just follow me home?”
She agreed to submit to a series of voluntary
field sobriety tests. Although she said she
understood the tests, she did not follow
instructions and was unable to perform them
as instructed.
She refused the preliminary breath test.
She was advised she was under arrest for
driving under the influence of alcohol, handcuffed
and was escorted to the patrol car where
she was searched and secured and her Miranda
rights given and the state patrol was notified.
A passenger took the preliminary breath
test and since she tested over the legal
limit, she was escorted home and the keys
to the vehicle were transferred to the state
patrol.
JUNE 16: A policeman was accompanying a
social worker who was going to serve some
papers on a female.
The papers included warrants for Obstructing
Law Enforcement Officer, Driving With License
Suspended 3rd degree and DUI’s out
of Snoqualmie and King County.
However, her roommate said she was sleeping
but maybe walking in her sleep, too, for
she apparently tore the screen and fled out
the bedroom window.
She was found hiding underneath some leaves
in woods near the apartment building from
which she’d run. She then became an
actor and played deaf when the officer questioned
her.
She pretended to pass out and requested
handcuff adjustment. Medics were contacted
who checked her vitals and said she was fine.
She acted quite normal when the medics were
checking her over but when the officers were
with her she went into her “other self.” She
admitted that she knew she had warrants out
on her but she really didn’t want to
go to jail.
