In
response to Mr. Bolotin’s letter: Nobody
asked for the killing coyotes. I own about
three acres of woods which I leave for coyotes,
raccoons, deer and other animals who want to
live there. So sharing isn’t the problem
here.
Mrs. Powers’ cat was in her backyard
and my cat was on my deck when they were
killed. A few days ago I found the remains
of another cat very close to my house.
This coyote doesn’t seem to be afraid
of people at all anymore. I have never observed
this behavior from the coyotes on my property
or in the neighborhood, and I had plenty
of opportunity in the 10 years I live here.
I think it’s great if people care
for wild animals but some reason and common
sense should be in order.
Why would it be so bad to relocate a few
coyotes to a place with no population, like
a national park?
And I’m sure most pet owners are very
well aware of their responsibilities.
