The
Auction of Washington Wines announces the collector’s
list for the 19th annual Gala on Saturday,
Aug. 19, to benefit Uncompensated Care at Children’s
Hospital & Regional Medical Center and
the Washington Wine Education Foundation. For
the first time in the history of the auction,
sealed bids will be accepted from those not
attending the gala for a select few auction
lots.
Collection highlights in the auction include:
Quilceda Creek’s Imperial “Perfection
Collection”
Quilceda Creek Vintners made Washington
wine history early this spring when Robert
Parker’s Wine Advocate awarded the
state’s first 100-point ratings to
both the 2002 and 2003 Quilceda Creek Cabernet
Sauvignons. Estate Vineyards of Leonetti
Cellar
A private tour of vineyards and winery with
Chris Figgins for six followed by a barrel
tasting.
Winning bidder takes home three etched 5-litre
bottles, one each of 2004 Reserve Cabernet
Sauvignon, Mill Creek Upland Vineyard Cabernet
Sauvignon, and Seven Hills Vineyard Cabernet
Sauvignon.

winemakers.

Freeze - From the teeth of winter, Cayuse
Vineyards offers nine 3-litre bottles of
rare and special wines from 2004. Winning
bidder also gets two coveted spots on Cayuse
Vineyards’ exclusive mailing list.

with vigneron Christophe Baron.
Andrew Will 9-litre - The Andrew Will 2004
Ciel du Cheval red wine is a blend of 48%
Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, 15% Cabernet
Sauvignon, and 7% Petit Verdot - all grown
on Red Mountain at Jim Holmes’ Ciel
du Cheval Vineyard. Presented in a spectacular
bottle (the equivalent of one case of wine),
this highly desirable lot is a must for any
serious collector of Washington red wine.
