Driftwood sculpture exhibit at City Hall

New driftwood art will be on display at Woodinville City Hall during August. The exhibit includes five award winning sculptures from the Northwest Driftwood Artists’ 2006 Driftwood Sculpture Show. Of special interest will be the 1st Place winner, “Homeward Bound,” by Jan Petzel and 2nd Place “Gate Keeper” by Marianne Heiman, both Woodinville residents.

Driftwood sculpture is an art form unique to the Pacific Northwest. Weathered wood gathered from rivers, mountains, forests or beaches is cleaned, shaped, sanded and beautifully finished into stunning works of art.The sculptures on display are by participants in the Driftwood Sculpture class held at the Woodinville Senior Center. Space is available in the Thursday morning class; for further information call Jo Marsh at (425) 883-7141.
