The
Riverview Educational Foundation (REF) has
announced they will be hosting their “On
Par for Education” dinner and auction
at the Sno-Valley Senior Center on Saturday,
September 30th at 6 p.m.
All proceeds from this
event will be used to fund REF’s 2007
grant season, which will enhance the educational
opportunities
for teachers, students and schools within
the Riverview School District.
The price for the event is $30 per person.
A delicious menu is planned, offering appetizers,
crab legs and chicken skewers, baby red potatoes
in garlic butter, Caesar salad, veggies and
dinner rolls, and finished with a scrumptious
cheesecake dessert. Live and silent auctions
are planned with lots of great packages to
bid for. There will also be a reverse raffle
for additional cash.
The Riverview Educational Foundation is
an all-volunteer, non-profit organization
created to raise money for the Riverview
School District. Funds raised by the Foundation
go towards materials, equipment and special
projects for Riverview Schools.
Some of the items REF has provided in the
past are: books for classrooms and school
libraries, science equipment and math supplies,
art materials, teaching aids, special technology
for classrooms and funding for special projects.
Last year alone REF awarded over $16,000
in grant money to Riverview teachers.
This is an excellent opportunity to enjoy
a great meal and a fun evening, all while
supporting a very worthy cause.
Seating is limited, so those wishing to
attend are encouraged to contact REF early
to guarantee a spot.
