Company’s
vehicles vandalized
Feb. 13: The manager of a company located
in the 19500 block of 144th Ave. NE called
to report that while he was in the company’s
parking lot, a picketer who had been hired
to picket his company yelled to him, “Take
a look at your trucks now!” Another
picketer told his fellow picketer to be quiet.
The manager began to look at the trucks and
found one with the word ”RATS” painted
in green on the door and another with tires
flattened. The officer dispatched to the
scene located a ladder with the same green
paint used on the one truck, but the ladder’s
owner was a picketer who denied having anything
to do with the vandalism and he refused to
allow a search of his vehicle. The man was
detained and advised of his rights and while
the officer spoke with the suspect, the other
picketers suddenly got into their vehicles
and left the scene. Due to lack of evidence
and because no witnesses came forward to
support or deny his claim, the picketer was
released. There is no further information
at this time.
I love you, I love you
Feb. 14: A woman called 9-1-1 explaining
that the man she was dating had just stepped
on her head after pushing her down. Officers
at the scene noted that the bruises they
were shown appeared to have been from earlier
injuries. The suspect denied having stepped
on her head and pushing her. The woman complained
of major neck pain but continued to move
her head and neck readily. The victim asked
to be transported to the hospital, but then
changed her mind when it was determined her
boyfriend would not be going to jail. Officers
described her as sobbing throughout the conversation
but with no visible tears. The suspect left
the scene, but as he was leaving she told
him she loved him and he responded that he
loved her. Officers encouraged her to go
to court to obtain a protection order if
she was afraid of him. She said she did not
need one. There is no further information
at this time.

February 14, Duvall: Maybe this person was
so busy picking out a Valentine gift that
they forgot to pay for it. Employees saw
it and it’s backed up on video. Say “I
love you” with a gift - one you pay
for.
February 14, Duvall: This person lost their
car in a residential area. In the condition
(DUI-type condition), better to lose the
car, than to drive it.
February 14, Carnation: Free pallets reported
stolen. Local business noticed several pallets
were missing. Police suggested a friendly
sign be put up so folks will know the business
still wants to keep them.
February 16, Duvall: What would a student
want with the school master key? It’s
not like it would increase their GPA. And
it wouldn’t do any good, really, without
the security code. Student busted.
February 16, Carnation: The sound of screeching
tires drove this person to call police. Apparently
the driver of said vehicle was still around,
so police had a chit-chat about reckless
driving.
February 16, Carnation: Now, here’s
a ‘good’ reason to call 911:
the shop didn’t return the customer’s
phone call. Officer made a ‘good’ suggestion:
call the shop again tomorrow during business
hours.
February 16, Duvall: Guess the good feelings
of Valentine’s Day had worn off by
the 16th. Two people had to be separated
for the evening after a discussion turned
into domestic violence.
February 18, Duvall: Maybe this man never
learned to color inside the lines, because
he had trouble getting his truck parked inside
the lines on Main Street. Officer found driver
in a local bar, prior to sipping a cool one,
and asked him to move the truck, just a smidgen,
so it would be off the road.
February 20, Duvall: Too wide, too fast,
two cars, one guardrail. Little mishap at
the corner of Main and W/D got one driver
a fender bender, and other driver a ticket
to go with the fender bender.
