Arrowhead’s 1/2/3 CLC learns from the
horses and staff at Little Bit.
Arrowhead Elementary’s 1/2/3 Contained
Learning Center (CLC), under the leadership
of Heidi Lothspeich, is piloting an educational
therapeutic horse riding program with Little
Bit Therapeutic Riding Center in Woodinville.
Arrowhead’s CLC is seeking funding to
support therapeutic horse riding for students
with autism, Tourette’s, developmental
delays, learning disabilities and emotional
behavioral disorders.
The unconditional love of the horses is proved
to reduce anxiety, encourage interaction and
offer a haven where riders can feel a sense
of empowerment. This empowerment transitions
to the classroom where students have gained
self-confidence, self-esteem, self-awareness
and self-control that helps them in their everyday
learning.
To contribute to the Therapeutic Horse Riding
Program, go to the Northshore Public Education
Foundation website at www.npefoundation.org
and select Therapeutic Horse Riding Arrowhead
Elementary to make your direct donation.
The Foundation has designed the Fund-A-Need
program to directly benefit each participating
school. A three percent service charge for
online donation processing has been added to
the project; no additional fees will be collected.
The best part is that the contribution not
only benefits the school, staff and students
but the donation is fully tax deductible as
NPEF is a 501(c)3 nonprofit.
