The balloon toss was a popular event during
the Senior Olympics at Brittany Park in Woodinville.
The
month of May celebrated several specialty activities:
National Physical Fitness and
Sports Month, Older American’s Month,
and National Senior Health and Fitness
Day.
In keeping with its Five-Star Fun philosophy,
on May 30 at Brittany Park Retirement Community
in Woodinville, Seattle-based Leisure Care
hosted area seniors from Everett, Lynnwood,
Woodinville, Redmond and Kent for a day
of athletic events and informative seminars
highlighting the importance of ongoing
exercise and healthy activity for people
of all ages.
The day’s athletic events, for participants
aged 78-94 years young, included: the 4x1
walking relay, a balance challenge, a water
balloon toss, mind challenge, an egg & spoon
race, putt putt golf tournament, darts,
and even electric cart races so that everyone
can join in the fun.
A closing medal presentation concluded
the day.
