The
Kenmore Art Show has grown into a highly regarded,
professionally juried regional event with a
reputation for showing quality paintings, drawings,
sculpture, photography and artisan works, all
for sale.
The show opens Saturday, August 25,
and runs through Sunday, September 2. Hours
are
2:30-8:30 p.m. daily. Admission is free.
It is hosted at Northlake Lutheran Church,
6620 NE 185th St, Kenmore. Now in its ninth
year, the 2007 show will be the largest
with the highest quality entries to date.
The show is juried, and entries will be
accepted Friday, August 17, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
The prospectus was mailed to approximately
2000 Northwest area artists. To request a
prospectus, email rflindstrom@comcast.net
or phone 425-486-6050.
Each year a guest artist is invited to show
his/her works. This year the show has invited
a truly outstanding lady, Evelyn Jones, who
celebrated her 100th birthday on July 11th.
She is still an active quilter and crafts.
Come and see what can be done if you have
interests and keep active.
Of the total 477 entries submitted in 2006,
291 were juried in and hung. Seventeen artists
shared $3200 in prize money. A $500 purchase
was donated to the City of Kenmore.
The affiliated Festival will feature a one-hour
musical presentation each evening at 7 p.m.,
showcasing a number of local musicians and
musical groups.
The show is sponsored by The Arts of Kenmore,
a nonprofit corporation whose purpose is
to encourage and promote both passive and
active participation in all forms of the
arts by area citizens for the enrichment
of the community.
In addition to the Art Show, several other
public events are sponsored each year, bringing
various forms of entertainment to Kenmore.
