Jessie
Bettes - born June 29, 1954, to David and Betty
Bensal - died Sept. 6. 2007.
She grew up with
two sisters, Josephine and Sue. In 1972,
she graduated from Franklin
High School and worked five years at
Victor Comptometer.
On Sept. 27, 1975, she married her lifetime
soul mate, David Brian Bettes.They lived
in Bothell for 11 years and Woodinville for
21 years. They dedicated and centered their
lives around their three children: Brian,
Marcie and Brandon.
Within the last four years, two family members
were added — son-in-law Steven Becher
and daughter-in-law Heidie Crutcher-Bettes.
This March there will be a third addition
with Jessie’s first grandchild.
Jessie’s worked as a health unit coordinator
for eight years at Evergreen Hospital and
at Evergreen Hospice for two years. The last
11 years she worked at the Boeing Company
in customer engineering.
In March 2001, she received a kidney transplant.
She was given the gift of life from Kris
Kime, a 20-year-old man who lost his life
during the Mardi Gras violence. She paid
it forward by volunteering at Life Center
Northwest. Life Center, and those who gave
the gift of life became near and dear to
her heart.
She is preceded in death by her father,
David Bensal, and her mother, Betty Bensal.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years,
David Bettes of Woodinville; Brian Bettes
of Kirkland; Marcie Becher of Kirkland; Brandon
Bettes of Woodinville; Steven Becher of Kirkland;
Heidie Crutcher-Bettes of Kirkland; and sisters,
Josephine Kopp of Burien and Sue Bensal of
Moses Lake.
The service was held on Saturday, Sept.
15, at Chapal of the Resurrection in Bothell.
Interment was on Monday, Sept. 17 at Cedar
Lawns Memorial Park in Redmond
