The holiday tree-cycling event for the Duvall and Carnation area will be on Saturday, January 5th.
Local Scouts have delivered flyers in the neighborhoods where they will collect trees as a fundraiser. They will start collecting trees at 9 a.m. Saturday morning and would appreciate a donation of $5 or more which will be divided among the participating groups to be used for 2008 programs.
Tree-cycling is for trees only. Please no wreaths, garlands, artificial trees or flocked trees. Remove all ornaments, hooks, tinsel and stands.
If you did not receive a flyer at your home from the Scouts, you can drop off your tree at Duvall’s Taylor Landing Park from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, or at Carnation Tree Farm from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on January 5th. Trees will be chipped and used for mulch by local tree farms.
Chips will be available for pick-up at Taylor Landing Park in Duvall on Sunday, January 6 and Monday, January 7 until dark.
Bring your own shovel, pickup or trailer and help to collect the chips. They are great to use as garden mulch and pet bedding.
For more information, please call Jodi Lee Wycoff at the City of Duvall, 425-788-1185 or Becky Buelna at the City of Carnation, 425-333-4192.
