Larry Bond, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died on Dec. 23, 2007.

Larry was born in Tacoma, Wash., on Aug. 27, 1922, to Boyde and Estelle Bond. He grew up in Tacoma and graduated from Stadium High School in 1940. He graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics in 1947 and obtained his Master’s Degree from Seattle University in 1960.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was honorably discharged as a Disabled American Veteran.

Larry married Patricia Hanley in 1945 and they had one son, William Boyde Bond, born in 1950. Larry began his teaching career in Joyce, Wash., and moved to Northshore School District the following year. He taught math at Bothell and Inglemoor high schools for 32 years and served as District Math Coordinator.

Hired by the Agency for International Development in 1973, he traveled to Nepal where he worked with Nepalese teachers-in-training for two years.

Larry was an avid outdoorsman, especially a hunter and fisherman; family members have their fondest memories of these trips with him. He enjoyed travel and visited many, many countries throughout the world.

He is survived by Patricia, his wife of 62 years; son, William and daughter-in-law Patricia Bond; grandchildren, Neal and Barbara Bond, Nathan and Jennifer Bond, Matthew Bond and Rhiannon Bond; and one great-grandson, Wyatt Boyde Bond.
