Each week, from June through October, Root Connection members can pick up a bag of farm-fresh vegetables at the farm. Members buy a “share” for the growing season. All produce is grown without harmful chemicals. Crops include lettuce, corn, peas, beans, carrots, tomatoes, bok choy, spinach, broccoli, kohlrabi, beets, cucumbers, squash, and more. Plus, members can help themselves to U-pick flowers, herbs, and greens. And kids will enjoy visiting the children’s garden.
Farm employees do all the planting and harvesting. The cost is $41.66/week ($875 total) for a large share (feeds four to eight) or $25.57/week ($537 total for a regular share (feeds one to four). Payments can be spread over the season, or pay in full by April 15 to receive a 3 percent discount.
The Root Connection Farm is located at 13607 Woodinville-Redmond Rd. For information, call (425) 881-1006 or see www.rootconnection.com.
