Every spring, the Snoqualmie Valley Community Network recognizes outstanding volunteers who, over the past year, have worked to build a healthy future for children and families of the Valley.

Community members and organizations nominate volunteers to be recognized at the 12th annual breakfast Tuesday, June 3rd from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m., at Camp River Ranch, 3300 NE 32nd Street, Carnation. The deadline for nominations is May 16th.

Rise and Shine awardees strengthen our sense of community and typically go un-recognized or under recognized for their efforts. While recipients typically feel uncomfortable with the attention, research shows that recognition is an important part of prevention, so the Network brings the community together to thank those who make the Valley “shine.” Past recipients include mentors, scouts, classroom volunteers, food bank volunteers, volunteer coordinators, business members and others. If you know a volunteer, of any age, who should be recognized, please submit a nomination.

The Network is part of the Family Policy Council, a family community, state partnership that involves local community in preventing problems such as child abuse, youth substance abuse and youth suicide. The Network helps the community find its own pathway for strengthening families and maximizing use of social service funding.

Through the Family Policy Council Community Networks, more than 10,000 volunteers across Washington invest their time and energy to improve the lives of children and families.
