| Hollywood Hill shines at Chess Championship

Hollywood Hill Elementary chess team sent eight students from grades 2 through 5 to participate in the State Elementary Chess Championship last weekend. In total, 1422 elementary students from around Washington state met at Overlake Church for a full day of five chess matches for each student. Four of the Hollywood Hill team members received trophies for their individual results. Michael Roth and Nicholas Pisani, both third graders, earned 4 points each. Tyler Chester (fifth grade) and Erik Praitis (grade) notched 3 points each. At the awards ceremony, the Hollywood Hill team was given honorable mention for the performance of its K through 3 grade players.
