A penny saved is a penny for more postage
Yikes! Gas prices up. Latte costs climbing. The next thing you know, postage prices will go up too. Oh, that’s right. Postage has gone up. As of May 12 the public began shelling out 1-cent more for a First-Class stamp.

Blankets of Kindness bring comfort and encouragement to hospice patients
It all started in 2006 when Bert Fisher, who lives at Madison House and volunteers at Evergreen Hospice, spoke to the residents about his idea to make soft, comfortable lap blankets for patients and their families dealing with difficult end of life issues.

Crystal is a sweet little Chihuahua who is seeking a companion for snuggles and short walks. After 12 years of devotion her family left her in a county shelter, and she wasn’t sure why she ended up there, surrounded by strangers and barking dogs.
