Eric Lucas, Director of Instrumental Music and Chair of the Performing Arts Department at WHS, promises to get folks in a spring mood, even if the weather doesn’t cooperate. And how might you ask does he intend to keep this promise?

“Just come to our Spring Pops Concert,” responds Lucas, “and I assure you, the music will put you in the mood.”

On a chilly spring day last week, former co-workers of the late Judy Anderson, along with her friends and family, gathered at the Carnation Post Office to remember her and dedicate a memorial plaque and garden.

Judy, a longtime letter carrier, her husband Wayne, their son Scott and his wife Erica and their two young children, were slain Christmas Eve at their rural home, allegedly by the Andersons’ daughter Michele and her boyfriend Joe McEnroe.

Community members needed for opening segment

‘My Home Town’ TV producers are currently in Carnation filming for their new show which airs on cable TV throughout the month of June. They will be filming their opening segment at the first day of the Carnation Farmers Market on Tuesday, May 13th at 3 p.m.

As many community members as possible are asked to gather together to shout out, “Welcome to my hometown, Carnation.” It will make for a wonderful opening for the 2008 market season, and show the world the town’s community pride. Everybody is welcome, whether you live in Carnation or are a visitor.

Five of the students in Jeannine Luce’s Life Skills class at Tolt Middle School are in the 8th grade this year.?In the fall of 2008, they will become freshmen at Cedarcrest High School.?

As part of their transitioning to a new school, each student made a “Red Wolves” pillow out of fleece in the CHS colors which are crimson, black and gray.?Karen Hough, the Riverview technology instructional specialist, helped the students create and transfer the CHS logo onto the fabric for each pillow and from that, the students had the opportunity to create these very unique and special keepsakes.
