Mark Alan Terry was born on January 22, 1956, in Kirkland, Wash., to Melvin and Nina Terry.
He attended Carnation Elementary and graduated from Tolt Jr/Sr High School in 1974.
He played and lettered in football, basketball and baseball while attending Tolt.
He attended WSU and made many lifelong friends, and that is where his alias “Sammy” was born.
He worked in the tree industry for many years and became a certified arborist. He enjoyed working in the great outdoors.
He met and married Vicki Holgren in June 1994 and had a son, Brooks Anthony Terry, on December 3.
He was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Nina Terry and his nephew Jarin Terry.
He is survived by the mother of his son, Vicki Terry, and his son, Brooks of Lake Stevens.
He is also survived by five siblings and one nephew and two nieces. They are Pamela Wojtowicz of Austin, Texas, Lynette Suman of Carnation, Michael Terry of Duvall, Loretta Underhill of Carnation and Debbie Kirchan of Issaquah; his nephew Joshua Suman of Carnation and his nieces Cassie Terry of Duvall and Brianna Wojtowicz of Austin, Texas.
Services will be at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Blanche Street in Carnation, Wash., on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at 11 a.m. A reception will follow in the church basement.
