Friends of Youth to host third annual Rise and Thrive Breakfast

  • Written by Woodinville Weekly Staff

Our third annual Rise and Thrive Breakfasts are right around the corner! Our goal is to raise awareness about the challenges students face each day, and the importance of counseling and prevention services in schools.

Friends of Youth provides mental health and substance abuse counseling, parent education and school based support, and prevention services for middle school students at risk of academic failure in the Snoqualmie Valley, Issaquah and Riverview school communities. Last year, Friends of Youth supported over 1,900 students and families.

Friends of Youth’s vision is for all youth to have every opportunity to succeed, and works to achieve this in many ways. Their services are designed to engage the entire family to build on strengths to find new ways of interacting.

Due to community donations from last year’s breakfast fundraisers, Friends of Youth was able to add additional hours to the current counseling services provided during the school day. All proceeds from the event go directly to the programs supporting the Riverview School District.

The Riverview Breakfast will be held Wednesday, Oct. 28 at the Educational Service Center, 15510 First Ave. NE Duvall, WA 98019. Registration begins at 7 a.m. with the breakfast program to follow from 7:30 – 8:30 a.m.
