On Saturday, April 27, My Village Northwest (previously Northwest Special Families) will partner with the Northshore YMCA to host one of Bothell’s long- standing traditions, the 11th Annual CanDo5K Run/Walk, 1-Mile Walk. Presented by Woodinville Pediatric Dentistry and BioLife Solutions, the race, which supports kids with disabilities and their families, takes place at the Seattle Times North Creek facility in Bothell.
Last year over 1,600 registered participants, community teams, and their supporters braved heavy rains to make the event a huge success. Together they raised over $30,000 to help fund My Village Northwest’s year-round programs and the Northshore Y’s Annual Campaign. This year, 1,800 participants are expected, and they will celebrate the theme of “Shining Stars”.
Participants can register online at,in person at various sponsor locations, and via mail. All donations are tax-deductible.
Participants and teams are encouraged to reach out to their communities to raise funds. Proceeds support My Village Northwest programming including: Special Olympics swim team, family and teen events, sibling programs, Lego Club, ongoing education and guest lectures, future opportunities for young adults with disabilities, and family support.
