Michael Patrick "Mike" Maloy

Mike was born in Tacoma, Wash. to Danny Maloy and Lila Ekstedt while Danny was stationed at Fort Lewis. He grew up in South Snohomish County and graduated from Lynnwood High School in 1977. His entire adult life was spent as an I.T. professional in the service of others, as shown by his resume’ which includes FEMA, Overlake Hospital, Evergreen Hospital, and the King County Crisis Clinic. He was a Search and Rescue volunteer, putting his ham radio hobby to very good use. Mike was a volunteer and familiar face at many regional  disaster  drill   events, including the annual Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drill, and Harborview Medical Center’s Mass Casualty Drill. Always putting others before self, he was ready to lend a hand to anyone who needed help.

Obit MaloyMike was preceded in death by his mother Lila, and is survived by his father Danny who now resides in Lake Havasu City Ariz., his sisters Cyndy (Ron) Meade of Whidbey Island, Terry (Alec) Barker of Woodinville, Candee Butterfield, and his brother Ken Taylor. He leaves behind his son Adam Maloy of Montreal, his daughter Apryl (Marcus) Jasperson, and his two grandchildren Charles and Danyka Mason.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on November 18 at 1 p.m., at First Lutheran Church in Bothell, 10207 NE 183rd St, Bothell, Wash. 98011.
