Sparkplug POWThis little 10-year-old sweetie is looking for her quiet forever home!

She was rescued from an overcrowded California shelter and is now safe and sound at Homeward Pet.

Sparkplug weighs just over seven pounds and is looking for a home with children over 10 years old.  She gets along well with other dogs, but seems to have a habit of chasing cats. It appears to be just for fun, but we recommend slow introductions with dog savvy cats.

She is housetrained and tends to have nice house manners in general.

We found Sparkplug in need of some dental work, so most of her teeth were removed and the rest have been cleaned.

Her new family will need to know that future dental maintenance will be necessary to keep her mouth clean and healthy.

She is a delicate girl who gets cold outside easily, so she will appreciate snuggly places and warm sweaters to wear during the cooler months.

If you are looking for a well-mannered small companion, please consider making Sparkplug your new treasure!

Come meet her at Homeward Pet!  We’re located at 13132 NE 177th Place in Woodinville.

Our shelter is open for visitors between noon and 6 pm, Wednesday through Sun.day.

Pandora POWWe find that too many younger female cats are forced to grow up and take on adult cat responsibility much earlier than they should. Poor Pandora came to Homeward Pet as a young gal, probably less than a year old along with her six newborn babies. One minute she was chasing toys around the house and the next minute she is solely responsible for the care and feeding of very demanding newborns. Pandora took her responsibility very seriously –she somehow instinctively knew what was expected of her.

Before  she knew it her kittens were 6 weeks old, healthy, fat and sassy. Although her human foster mom was constantly feeding Pandora, this sleek black mommy was skinny, giving all that she had to her kittens.

Since her babies were now eating solid food on their own, we decided to bring Pandora back to our shelter so we could pamper her and “fatten” her up.

This sweet, affectionate kitty is now at a great weight, healthy, spayed and looking forward to a life of leisure.

Pandora is a delight!  Come meet her here at Homeward Pet! We’re located at 13132 NE 177th Place in Woodinville.  Our shelter is open for visitors between 12 noon and 6 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday.

Peaches POWThis 6-year-old cutie is named Peaches! She was surrendered by her elderly owner after the owner became unable to care for her. Although we know that Peaches was loved, she was overfed and has become significantly overweight. Peaches weighs 18 pounds and needs to shed quite a few pounds, which will be important for her future health and well-being. Gradually increasing exercise and providing a healthy diet is a great start. No people food please!

Peaches tends to be quiet and well mannered. She will make a great smaller companion for someone who is looking for an easygoing pet. She is accustomed to living with adults, so placement with children should be with those who are over 12 years of age. She is compatible with both dogs and cats. Are you interested in helping Peaches be the best dog that she can be? If so, she would love to meet you!

Come to Homeward Pet to meet Peaches!  We’re located at 13132 NE 177th Place in Woodinville. Our shelter is open between 12 and 6 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday. See all our adoptable dogs, cats, kittens and puppies at www.homewardpet.org. February marks Homeward Pet’s 22nd year of helping homeless animals through rescue, shelter and adoption! We’re celebrating with an adoption event on Wednesday, February 22. Adoption fees will be discounted to $22 all day. Visit www.homewardpet.org for more information.

These mellow siblings are currently enjoying the Douceur Cat Colony.

Lena POW

Jay POW
Jay
his new cat colony  is like Disneyland for kitties with all sorts of shelves, cubby holes, catwalks and toys.

Best of all, now the felines can keep an eye on all of the humans in the lobby.  If you haven’t been in to visit, come on by during adoption hours (Wed.-Sun., noon-6 p.m.) to tour our new facility.

Jay is a handsome black tabby. He has magnificent owl like eyes and doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. This laid back 7 year old is a great age; he’s over the crazy kitten years but still likes to spend time chasing the laser beam.

His sister Lena hangs back a little until she gets to know you.  Once she is comfortable in her surroundings,  she likes to “talk” and tell you all about her day.  These siblings have always been indoors and love to keep human laps warm.

They really would like to be adopted together, as they would be lost if they were separated. They are easy to care for and will be happiest in a mellow household.

Come to Homeward Pet to meet Jay and Lena!  We’re located at 13132 NE 177th Place in Woodinville.

Our shelter is open for visitors between noon and 6 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday.  See all our adoptable dogs, cats, kittens and puppies at www.homewardpet.org.

Hunter is a personable 8- year-old dog at Homeward Pet, who is looking for a special home. This handsome fellow is seeking the right living situation that has eluded him for so long.

Like so many unfortunate animals, he was mistreated as a younger dog, so he needs an experienced owner who will understand that he’s not comfortable in some social situations.

Hunter POWHunter is a wonderful dog who is seeking another chance to win someone over. He’s quite the charmer, so he knows it’s only a matter of time.

Hunter is looking for an owner who will provide him with a quiet home environment.

Busy households with lots of visitors make him uncomfortable and aren’t for him.

He requires an adult only home, and is not a good match for children or households with child visitors.

Hunter is good with cats, and while he doesn’t have much life experience with other dogs, he might be open to sharing a home with the right canine companion.

Prior dog experience and knowledge of the Cocker Spaniel breed will be required of all potential adopters.

Hunter is a smart dog who knows several commands. He is crate trained, house trained, and possesses great all-around house manners.

He loves to snuggle with his people and enjoys playing, especially with his cherished whiffle balls.

Hunter weighs 30 pounds and sports a beautiful, soft coat.

Please contact Homeward Pet or come in for a visit if you’re interested in this handsome guy!
