The Woodinville Concert Band’s spring performance, entitled “History,” will take place at the Redmond Performing Arts Center on Sunday, May 4 at 3 p.m. Featuring composers such as Robert W. Smith, Frank Ticheli and Vaclav Nelhlybel, it is free and open to the public.
The concert band, directed by Leah Weitzsacker, is the largest group under the Woodinville Community Band umbrella organization, which also includes a jazz orchestra, big band and several small ensembles. Membership includes engineers, schoolteachers and students, some with decades of experience, and all with a talent and love for music.
Other upcoming performers include the Woodinville Concert Band and the Pacific Cascade Big Band at the Burien Strawberry Festival on June 14 and the Professor Gadget Sax Quartet at the Ballard Locks on June 28.
