Pet of the Week - November 19, 2012

Tulip (2)If you come down to visit our shelter, make sure to say hello to Miss Tulip.

She is quite the character, with her loud, cranky sounding meow (she’s really not mad at you, it just sounds that way).

Tulip decided that living with all of the other cats in our cat room was rather stressful and because of that she has claimed the front lobby as her “home.”

We guesstimate her to be about 12 years old although we don’t know for sure as she was originally abandoned at a city shelter.

Because this orange tabby has some health issues and dislikes other cats, she has been in our care for awhile.

When you meet this senior “diva” kitty, she will surely charm you and has become our Homeward Pet ambassador for older cats in need of homes.

It's Adopt-A-Senior Pet Month at Homeward Pet Adoption Center, a time when we focus attention on our senior cats and dogs available for adoption – those more mature, more experienced, often more easy-going animals. Frequently overlooked during the summer kitten and puppy season, an older dog or cat can make the perfect companion.

We are located at 13132 NE 177th Place in Woodinville and are open for visitors between noon and 6 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday.
