The Duvall Civic Club’s 44th annual plant and garden art sale is held on the Saturday before Mother’s Day. The event is scheduled for May 7 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. behind the Duvall Visitors Center located at 15619 NE Main Street, Duvall. This year there will also be a craft sale upstairs in the Center.
The Duvall Civic Club welcomes volunteers and donations of plants as they are needed to make this sale a success. More information may be found online at www.duvallcivicclub.org.
The club was founded in 1929 and established the first library in the city. They raised money for the original building, which was built at a cost of $500. It opened in 1935 with a collection of 1,500 books. Over the years, the group has continued to support the library. The Duvall Friends of the Library, a direct descendant of the Duvall Civic Club, still participates in the plant sale with a gift basket raffle.
Other Civic Club community endeavors include scholarships for local high school graduates and support for Summer- Stage, the Sno-Valley Senior Center, Duvall and Carnation Farmers Markets, HopeLink and the Riverview Education Foundation. One recent grant paid for a play structure at a local park.
The Duvall Civic Club would love to have you join our organization. The club meets the second Wednesday of each month in the Rose Room on the lower level of the Duvall Visitors Center from September through June at 7 p.m. Visitors are always welcome. Hope to see you there!
