Studio East & StoryBook Theater Present Two Holiday Shows

  • Written by Woodinville Weekly Staff

Studio East and StoryBook Theater bring the spirit of the holiday season to life with favorites, ‘Twas the Night… and The Elves & the Toymakers.

Now in its 17th run at Studio East, ‘Twas the Night promises to be as hilarious and entertaining as ever. We all know the familiar holiday poem, but this show takes a whole new spin with reindeer dressed like chorus girls, singing mice, and a troupe of Victorian carolers. There’s even an audience sing-a-long to keep everyone on their toes, and of course Santa Claus himself makes an appearance.

Twas 2‘Twas the Night is recommended for ages 4+ and has a running time of 90 minutes, plus an intermission. All tickets are $20 and can be purchased at www.studio-east.org. All performances are at the Studio East Mainstage Theater in Kirkland. Performances run Nov. 25 – Dec. 17, Sat & Sun - 3 times a day.

StoryBook Theater continues its holiday tradition with The Elves & the Toymakers, a delightful musical about the spirit of giving.

Can two spunky Elves save the day? This musical will also continue another StoryBook tradition, a toy drive for Hopelink. Audience members can bring a new, unwrapped toy and participate in the toy parade on stage during the show.

The Elves & the Toymakers is recommended for ages 3+ and has a running time of 55 minutes. Tickets are $18 (including service fees) and can be purchased at www.storybooktheater.org or (425) 820-1800.

Kirkland performances can be purchased at kpcenter.org or (425) 893-9900. The local, professional cast will perform at the following venues:

Shoreline Conference Center: Dec. 2; Hales Palladium in Seattle-Fremont: Dec. 3; Renton Carco Theater: Dec. 9; Kirkland Performance Center: Dec. 10*, 16, 17, & 19.

*December 10th shows are ASL interpreted.
