5K run-Walk to benefit student scholarships

The University of Washington Bothell will hold its 6th annual 5K Run-Walk on Saturday, May 14. The event, hosted by the UW Bothell Alumni Council, has generated more than $40,000 for student scholarships.

Participating runners and walkers will follow a scenic course that winds throughout the entire campus, including the central promenade, the historic Truly House and Chase House, and the 58-acre wetlands, which is one of the largest wetlands restoration projects on the west coast.

The event also includes a post-race continental breakfast and family activities.

In addition, Cascadia Community College, which shares the campus with UW Bothell, is sponsoring a kids’ dash for runners under the age of 10.

Online registration for the event is available through May 12. Walk-up registration will also be available.The race begins at 9 a.m. with check-in beginning at 8 a.m.

The campus is located at the intersection of I-405 and SR-522. Parking for the event is free. For more information on the 5K, visit:
