The 2015 Puget Sound Knotweed Forum will be held on Nov. 4 at the Cedar River Watershed Education Center, 19901 Cedar Falls Road SE, North Bend, WA 98045.
The main meeting will be from 9 to 12 noon, followed by an optional site tour in the afternoon from 12:30 to 2:30. The agenda includes regional updates and map sharing from knotweed projects around Puget Sound, information exchange on project planning and problem-solving, and a panel discussion on pollinator-friendly weed control techniques.
The afternoon field trip will feature stops at the Cedar River Watershed Restoration Area and the South Fork Snoqualmie River Circle River Ranch.
This is an excellent opportunity for anyone working on knotweed control projects to learn from others and to share your own experiences with this challenging invader. As a bonus, coordination between projects can help everyone be more effective and efficient.
Although there is no cost to attend, pre-registration is required. Coffee and snacks will be available, but you are responsible for your own lunch.
Two WSDA pesticide license recertification credits are available to forum participants. One credit will be earned in the main session and another credit is available for participation in the optional site field tour. Transportation for the field tour will be provided, but is limited to those who pre-register.
