Man killed by forklift at Lynnwood business

At approximately 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 18, a 69-year-old man from Bothell was struck by a forklift while walking through a parking lot of a Lynnwood business located in the 4000 block of 198th St SW.

The victim was a business customer.

Lynnwood Police and Fire arrived to investigate the incident. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the forklift, a 46-year-old man from Edmonds, was an employee of the business. He was driving the forklift through the lot with a box of merchandise on the forks and advised police that he saw a flash of “blue” go in front of the forklift and he slammed on the brakes. The box on the forklift fell forward and landed on the customer.

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office advised that the victim passed away at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Aug. 19. Lynnwood Police Detectives are continuing to investigate.
