Bothell High School will present “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” by William Shakespeare at the Northshore Performing Arts Center(18125 92nd Ave. NE, on the BHS campus). January 6, 7, 12, 13 and 14 at 7:30 p.m., and January 14 at 2 p.m. The matinee will be ASL interpreted.
The play is one of Shakespeare’s most popular works for the stage. It follows four Athenian lovers and some lacking actors as they run away, only to be manipulated by the fairies who inhabit the forest in which most of the play is set.
Bothell High School’s theatre arts instructor James Wilson will direct the play.
Senior, Chelsea Wing, who plays Hermia, says she loves working with the Shakespearian language and watching her fellow actors learn and grow in their roles. Hermia, is one of the four lovers running away because she does not want to marry her father’s choice for a husband.
Tickets for “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” are available to purchase in advance online at www.bothelldrama.org or can be purchased at the door one hour before each performance.
Tickets are $6 for children, students with ASB, seniors and military; $8 for adults.
