Fire hits Bothell home, Damage estimated at $150,000

At approximately 11 p.m. January 27, crews from the City of Bothell Fire and E.M.S., Northshore Fire Department, Woodinville Fire & Rescue and Snohomish County Fire District #7 responded to a residential structure fire located in the 3000 block of 228th Street SE in Bothell. Upon arrival, crews found smoke and flames visible, coming from the single family residence.

Firefighters made a fast attack and were able to contain the fire quickly. The homeowner was evacuated from the home before fire crews arrived, escaping with only minor injuries.

The residence sustained extensive damage. The damage is estimated to be at least $150,000.

The cause of the fire was determined to be inappropriate disposal of smoking materials near oxygen equipment.

The City of Bothell Fire and E.M.S. Fire Marshal’s Office is handling the investigation.
