Woodinville congregation offering High Holy Day services

It takes quite a talent to be able to blow one.Congregation Kol Ami, a Reform Jewish Synagogue in Woodinville, is offering High Holy Day services for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur in September.
Kol Ami welcomes all who would like to celebrate. A complete schedule is listed below.
The High Holidays begin with Rosh Hashanah and is also referred to as the Jewish New Year.
In Jewish tradition, Rosh Hashanah marks the anniversary of the creation of the world as described in the Torah.
It is also the day on which God inscribes the fate of each person in the "Book of Life" or the "Book of Death," determining both if they will have a good or bad year and whether we will live or die.
Rosh Hashanah also marks the beginning of a 10-day period on the Jewish calendar that focuses on repentance or teshuvah.
Jews mark the holiday with festive meals, sweet treats like apples and honey, prayer services, and wish each other "l’shanah tovah," meaning a "good new year."
Yom Kippur – Often referred to as the "Day of Atonement," this is the holiest day in the Jewish calendar and concludes the period of the High Holidays and 10 "Days of Awe."
The focus of the holiday is on repentance and final atonement before God before the books of life and death are sealed.
As part of this atonement adult Jews who are physically able are required to fast for the entire day.
Most Jews, even many secular Jews, will attend prayer services for much of the day on Yom Kippur. At the end of Yom Kippur, Jews who have atoned consider themselves absolved of their sins from the previous year, thus beginning the new year with a clean slate.

September 4th – Erev Rosh Hashanah – 7:30 p.m.
September 5th – Rosh Hashana
Children’s Service – 9 a.m.
Morning Service – 10:30 a.m.
Oneg and Tashlich following Service
September 13th – Kol Nidre – 7:30 p.m.
September 14th – Yom Kippur
Children’s Service – 9 a.m.
Morning Service – 10:30 a.m.
Study and Meditation –1 p.m.
Afternoon Service – 3 p.m.
Yizkor/Neilah Service – 5 p.m.
Break the Fast Potluck at a member’s home - 6:30 p.m.
Tickets are $75 per service or $250 for all four days. We don’t turn away anyone because of inability to pay. Must call in advance for tickets.
Childcare is provided.
