November is Adopt A Senior Pet Month and Homeward Pet Adoption Center is hoping to top the charts with “Oldies but Goodies”! All month long, the shelter is offering reduced adoption fees for animals over eight years old—$25 for cats and $50 for dogs.
From its Brown Eyed Girls and Pretty Women to Hound Dogs and Leaders of the Pack, this no-kill animal rescue has headliners that will Put a Little Love in Your Heart! Come and find out How Sweet It Is to be Happy Together with a senior pet. Though often overlooked in favor of younger animals, older pets are just as grateful for the chance to join a family.
“We can all agree kittens and puppies are cute, but senior pets have their own advantages, too,” says Gary Rubin, Homeward Pet Executive Director. “They’re trained, mellow, easy keepers, and make all-around great family pets.”
Though senior pets spend more time on average in the shelter, we’re hoping to change that tune. Sing along on social media, adopt an “Oldie,” or volunteer your time and expertise to help our senior cats and dogs find loving homes for the holidays.
